Questions

Helping You Stay Safe and Informed.

The final price depends on the size, type, material, design and installation of the gate. For instance, wooden driveway gates start around £650 to £1,000 while sliding gates costs start from £1,000 to £2,000. The labour cost to install a simple security gate onto brickwork is between £200 - £700. Main gate automation can cost you anywhere between £500 - £1,000.

It depends on the type and specifics of the fence. For a wooden fence: £1,500 (average total job) and £110 - £120 per metre. For a chain link fence: £530 - £2,000 (average total job) and per metre cost is from £10 to £30 while posts are £57 – £103.50 each. Electric fence materials can cost you between £300 - £1,400 per acre.

Yes, security gates are a very effective way to deter criminals, especially when they are joined by tall fences with difficult-to-climb tops (like an iron fence with pointed tips). A security gate becomes an obstacle to slow down the entry, exit for criminals and trespassers.

We are primarily based in Devon, but we provide our services in the whole of Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall. If you need to install any kind of gates or fencing systems in these areas, we’ll be more than happy to help.

Our team can typically install a standard electric gate within 1 to 2 days. However, if there’s a more complex project that involves sliding gates, a more extensive groundwork or integration with other systems, it may take longer.

Well, in many cases, we can. But your existing manual gate should be structurally sound and in good condition for us to retrofit it with an automation system. If your gate is worn out, rusted, cracked or chipped significantly around the edges or hinges, it can compromise the safety features like photocells and wiring. We’ll survey your gate before giving you our professional opinion.

We consider powder-coated aluminium or steel gates to be the best when you are looking low maintenance materials. Powder coating makes your gate highly resistant to rust and harsh weather conditions while steel gives you an everlasting durability.

Yes, most of the modern automatic gate systems we design have a backup power option or a manual override mechanism for such situations so you can open the gate even without power supply. You can let us know which override method you’d prefer while we finalise the gate design and installation for you.

We suggest vinyl fencing if you want a maintenance-free barrier around your property. You can regularly clean it with just a hose, nothing else. Another excellent, low-maintenance option is aluminium posts and bars which only need regular washes and a bit of lubrication for moving parts.

Our warranty has two parts: we cover the workmanship and installation for one year against defects. The materials we used in your gates and fencing come with separate manufacturer warranties, which can range from 1 year to 20 years. For automatic gates and barrier systems, we provide annual renewable maintenance contracts which include 1-3 maintenance/service visits per year to your property.

Well, it depends on how much space you have. Swing gates require more space to open inwards or outwards and we usually recommend them for level driveways. Sliding gates are ideal for slopes or properties where the space directly in front of the gate is limited because they move horizontally along a track.
